Will it read a DVD and record the dvd to a USB null

I just use mine to play my exercise DVDs.

As implied in its header, the LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black Model # SP80NB80, will read DVD-R (SL/DL), DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM (SL/DL), DVD-RW, and DVD-VIDEO discs, and it will write (burn) to DVD+R (DL), DVD+R (SL), DVD+RW, DVD-R (DL), DVD-R (SL), DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, and M-Disc DVD(DVD+R) discs. It connects via its USB port. An external DVD drive cannot record directly to a USB port. The USB ports on external DVD drives are typically designed for playback purposes only. To transfer content from a DVD drive to a USB port, you can directly copy and paste audio_ts and video_ts from DVD to a USB flash drive...^Ivan.
