• Yes, this play will play CDs. There are no outputs to support external speakers. ^Daphane

• It depends what model of the DVD player that you have. If it has audio outputs you can connected it to your speakers by buying an RCA to 3.5mm female adapter wire. If your DVD player only has the HDMI output then no you can not hook it up to your speakers unless you connect your TV audio output to them.
