Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The manual that came with my LMC1575ST indicates 1250W of rated power consumption, and 1200W of microwave power -- so both numbers you mention seem to be valid.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I know this unit I purchased from Best Buy is 1200 watts. My last LG was 1100 watts. I have overcooked at least two meals so far due to not being used to a more powerful unit. Regardless of the wattage it will take getting used to. I have noticed one thing about this machine which I have come to really HATE. There is NO numerical touchpad. You enter cooking time via a digital slider that ONLY works in 10 second intervals. So if you want to cook something for 8 seconds you have to set the timer for 10 seconds and stop the unit at the 2 second mark. I find this extremely frustrating and if I had realized this before I purchased the machine - I would NOT have done it. LG makes great kitchen appliances - this particular model is a major disappointment to me!
