The controls are completely different. There is no number pad, so to get to five minutes, you have to either slide your finger along a line, or touch and hold the "+" sign until you get to five. Many people find it cumbersome, though we were willing to put up with it for the sleek look of the oven. The bigger problem is reliability and LG's lousy customer service. Our magnetron went out at 7 months--2.5 months ago--and LG has yet to honor the warranty. They wanted us to go out and buy another one on our dollar, with the promise that they would reimburse us. They haven't. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy LG products. I just posted a 1-star review. If it gets published, you can read the whole story there.
