Is there a way to turn off the sing-song sounds this microwave makes for every action? I'd rather hear nothing than these obnoxious sounds. null

There is a youtube video on how to turn off the annoying sound of an LG microwave. It is slightly a different model but we followed the steps by guessing which similar buttons to press and it worked!.

For our LG microwave (LG NeoChef MS2596OS) press and hold the 'Clear' button then press the 'Keep Warm' button for 5 seconds then the display will show the changing state 'On' or 'Off" of the beep sound. 
Here I uploaded the picture of the microwave panel and which buttons we pressed.

I can confirm that my LMC2075 microwave mutes *all* sounds after I hold the Timer and STOP buttons together for 3 seconds. If I do it again, it re-enables the original beeps and musical tones. Unit was purchased in Feb 2020 at Best Buy. No speaker removal needed.

I am also being driven nuts by this chime - it doesn’t stop until you open the door. Appliances should not be so intrusive! Beep once, don’t give me a stupid sing song and only do it ONCE! I don’t need the constant reminder over and over agin - if I didn’t open the door immediately after I cook something there is usually a reason and if not I obviously didn’t care that much about whatever it was I was heating up! I am considering getting rid of this oven and getting a more polite one.

Guys guys guys... Hold first "CLEAR" first the hold "AUTO REHEAT" until you see the screen say OFF. Figured Id try all the options first before opening the microwave and potentially voiding the warranty. Although my NeoChef is smaller I'm sure its all the same. Cash app me $5 if this work for you. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a mute or silence button, wouldn't have bought this had I known this. Wish LG would had this feature to their microwaves, it can't be that hard, there are microwaves with wi-fi.

Actually there is a way. I did it and the microwave is still perfectly working!
You need to remove the cover and at the back of the touch panel, remove the blue speaker.

Pack away the toolboxes please. To mute the sound on a Neochef microwave simply press the Inverter Cook and Stop/Cancel buttons simultaneously and hold for a few seconds - thereafter the word 'Off' will appear on your info screen. To enable the sound again, simply repeat the process.

I just pulled out the little round blue speaker as suggested by SirRazor and the irritation is now gone. This is essentially the same method outlined for the LG range; there is a YouTube video for that fix; the little blue speaker in that video is identical to the one I pulled from my microwave.

My wife and I THANK YOU, SIRRAZOR, for posting your fix!! It is delightful to be rid of that annoyance. SHAME ON LG for putting this decent product on the market without testing it for consumer annoyance on some real humans possessing full hearing capacity!! I'd like to be able to bill them and/or Best Buy for the time I invested in researching how to turn it off digitally and then ultimately ripping the speaker out.

Remove the speaker to get rid of the annoying sound. Here is how: (1) Remove rotating tray and rollers. Unplug the microwave. (2) Remove the outer gray metal cover. That was difficult for me because of the 4 screws in back were not standard screws. I had to pry those out. The 2 screws on the bottom side of the cover are standard phillips and they were easy to unscrew. Then I wiggled the cover off. (3) Find the speaker. It was a blue disk with the diameter of a quarter and about 1/4 inch thick. The speaker is located on the back of the circuit board which is the back of the user's control panel. It is accessible and attached at three points. (4) Pull, pry, and wiggle the blue speaker off of the circuit board panel. (5) Slide the gray cover back on to the microwave and re-screw the 2 side screws. (6) Plug in microwave. Set clock. (7) Test. Voila, no more annoying sound and the microwave still works.

They just got one of these where I work. My office is 50ft from the kitchen and I am tortured by this annoying sound all day long while I am trying to concentrate on writing software. There should be a recall.
Considering cutting the wires to the speaker. However, my employer might frown upon that. Maybe the microwave could accidentally fall on the floor.

You could turn off sound on this LMC2075ST model by holding BOTH Stop/Clear and Timer/Clock button together for 3 seconds. The screen shows OFF and all sounds will be muted.

For the NeoChef .9 cu ft model - LMC0975ST - try holding the clear button and then the auto defrost. You should get an "off" display. Repeat the process to turn on the sound.

On my model you press and hold the Auto reheat and Clear buttons at the same time. After a couple seconds it should say OFF. Voila! To turn it back on, repeat this.

SirRasor Is right on. The speaker is blue on mine as well. If you’ve wired/stuffed a dimmer into the wall for a light, you may find this easier. The “speaker” doesn’t have the center hole like some you’ll see online, and has 3 solder points, which made me take a little more time to be certain I had the right part. Also, a person doing this upgrade may need to purchase “torx security” bits to get the microwave apart. Such sweet silence, and if you press clear when you plug in the microwave, no clock to stare at every morning. Don’t forget to unplug before you start. Cheers!

Mine is a LG MS2336DB and you can mute these annoying sounds by 1) pressing and holding the the 'STOP/Cancel' whilst simultaneously then 2) pressing and holding the 'Inverter Cook' until 'Off' is displayed.

Basically press both  buttons until it says 'Off'.

I have just purchased an LG Smart inverter model MS2336DB 23 L. The musical chimes are infuriating! To turn them off you need to press the stop button and the inverter defrost button at the same time for five seconds. The display then says ‘pass.’ Then you will need to press the inverter button and the stop button at the same time. The display will then say ‘off’. This did the trick for us no more horrible noise. Hopefully this will work for you too

Yes! CMChow's method worked perfectly right away. Hold he "sensor cook" and "clear" button at the same time and then the word "off" will appear.

Actually was easier to do than setting the clock, or activating the child lock. (For some reason holding 3+ seconds does not seem to activate the lock unless you hold it just right - gotta have the magic touch.)

Yay for not needing to rip out speaker or return, but why is this not in the user manual?!

For LG NeoChef - Press lower left "Stop/Clear" and upper right "Auto Heat" buttons at the same time for about 2 seconds.

If default is "Sounds ON" (factory setting) , then you press and hold these two buttons, next you will see Clock Display cycle to "Off". Remove fingers and hear no more alert/key press sounds.

If default is "Sounds Off, then when doing above, Display will cycle to" ON" and you will hear sounds.

Just wanted to report about my model, bought in August 2020 - LG MS2336DB. I managed to turn off the sound by holding down 'stop/clear' and 'inverter cook' for 3-5 seconds (I wasn't counting!) It flashed up 'STOP' and then the sound was off.

Thank goodness for this thread, I was about to loose it with this sound. I didn't mind the little song at first but the way it repeats until you open it had me stressed! I really wish I could have just turned that off or changed the song, but at least I am enjoying some blissful silence now!

Bought this today and hated the jingle. I had thoughts of taking it back to the store and get something normal sounding. Though it's not documented, disabling it is simpler than I thought. Discovered it by accident. Open the door and keep "clear" + "sensor" pressed for 3 seconds on the touch panel. You see see "OFF" blink and go away. I just bought an LG NeoChef LMC1575. The manual states nothing about a mute / silent option. But I followed some of the other comments, and found the key combination. No need to disassemble your microwave - at least not with the LG MS259. 

If you hold the *clear* button followed by the *keep warm* button on the control panel for around 3 seconds it will display "OFF". This is the speaker being disabled.

Should you have no love for those you live with, you can repeat the steps to re-enable the speaker.

On Our LMC 1575BD Microwave I can confirm that I was able to toggle the annoying tones OFF and ON by pressing and holding "Clear" and then pressing "Sensor Cook" to toggle the tones ON and OFF. Sweet silence. My daughter misses the little jingle at the end of each cooking cycle. She thinks it says, "I'm a happy little micro-wave." I cannot understand why this ON and OFF capability is not in the owner's manual. Now, if someone could please figure out how to set a cook time that is not a multiple of ten. For example, I'd like to set 18 seconds, 22 seconds, or 1 minute and 15 seconds. Any ideas on how to do that?

I recently purchased a Neochef MS2336DB microwave and like so many I have been tormented by the god awful chimes. After trying every possible button combination I finally managed to turn the chimes off! Press the Inverter Cook and Stop/Cancel buttons at exactly the same time and hold for a few seconds. 'Off' will appear on the display and you can be happy once again. I assume you repeat the process to turn back on again but I will never, ever, be doing this.
