• No. The very handy soften button feature was lost two models ago. I now use reduced power and the timer set according to the temperature of the butter. Usual is 80% power for 20 seconds to soften without clarifying.

• While there is not a specific button for those needs, you can adjust the power to 70 for melting chocolate and 20 for softening butter. ^CP
