The door button is held in place by two pieces of cheap plastic. Our door button broke, too. We are now replacing the entire microwave since the keypad began malfunctioning.

When I replaced the LG oven with a new LG oven, I made sure that I pressed the upper left hand corner of the button to open the door. Maybe, pressing elsewhere on the button stresses the button shaft. Unfortunately, I am not on social media but I think this kind of explanation is what the manufacturer is looking for.
