It has a little jingle after your food is ready. Kinda like a cell phone. Very subtle not loud and annoying ..but you might forget to check it if you are used to a traditional beeping sound. Almost like setting your alarm clock with a nice song instead of a blaring alarm. It will continually ring to let you know that your food is done. So far I heard it happened three times after the food was ready. Not bad at all
