Hi Bruce. From the description that you have given, it sounds like you have some oil or food spatter that got on the interior light bulb in the LG - 2.0 Cu. Ft. Family-Size Microwave - PrintProof Black Stainless Steel, Model # LMC2075BD so that every time the bulb heats up, it burns the spatter causing it to smoke...^IFV

Could it be there is food spatter on the bulb or in that area and the bulb's heat is burning the spatter off? On my old microwave, in the area of the bulb there was a screwed-on vent, which was very hard to properly clean. And to clean the bulb, ugh! The cover over the bulb had open cooling vents (basically open slots) in it so spatter could get on the bulb, thus as it heats, it stinks and/or smokes. The spatter on the cover and on the walls of the microwave near the food you are cooking can also cause this. No matter how careful one is, you don't stop in the middle of cooking a chicken or spaghetti sauce and clean the inside of the unit. Wishing you well as you continue to use your microwave. They surely can save you time.
