I'm not sure, as in our case, after two gas leaks in the first two days of ownership, they replaced the dryer completely, along with the gas hose and connector, and the vent line (which also was not properly connected). We had to shut the gas off at the valve to resolve the problem temporarily until the Geek Squad or the installers could come out to make the "repair." The first leak, the install team sent out a second install team to "fix" the leak problem. Leak #1 occurred within a few hours of the install. Then, it was going to be almost two weeks for the Geek Squad to even arrive, but then the install team stepped in again and did the replacement (the second leak) within the first few days. No more gas problems in the month since then. A better option may be to call your gas utility, if it is an emergency. I have seen a gas company employee use a soapy mixture to identify a leak by seeing where the soap bubbles up from the pressurized gas. Better to just call the utility company, than to mess with it yourself, though, I think.
