“Have to manually drain water?? In researching new washers, we have run across several people complaining about the need to manually drain water from the unit. I've read comments saying it needs to be done monthly, others saying much more frequently. For example, a review on Consumer Reports wrote: "The Achilles heel of this technological marvel is you have to DRAIN WATER AFTER EVERY CYCE TO AVOID MOLD. On the lower Left on the front of the washer is the drain pump filter cap. You have to open it, unclip a small black drain hose and remove the plug to drain remaining water. I measured 3 CUPS OF WATER for each load. Keep a small container to drain the water into. I did not buy the bottom drawer, so it involves bending down, seniors beware. OK, I'll do it to avoid mold, but DRAINING WATER is one of the highest priority features. Water should drain out of the washer automatically! " Can someone clarify this for me? Is it something that needs to be done routinely? And if so, how often?”
