“Does this version still have the magnets to hold the earbuds? The older versions have a magnet to hold the earbuds, does this one still have it now that there are retractable cables? Thanks”

it does have magnets (very small) but the only reason I know this is because I had to take mine apart to fix the retractable wheel because the left side no longer retracted. the magnet is not strong enough to hold the ear bud by itself
