Yes they can do this. Sometimes one phone or the other may need to be linked by going to the settings and hitting the Bluetooth button and then linking it. Sometimes my I phone does this (I have a I phone with Sprint and a Note 5 with Verizon), my Note rarely does this. It always finds the Bluetooth and links automatically.

They work petty well, but they will only auto pair back to the last line paired after disconnecting. You must manually select them again on the other phone. Not a big deal, but rather a minor annoyance. But they work.
