“I got the monitor today and am very pleased with picture. I noticed that Windows detected it as the old GL850 model. The box said GN850 and the back of the monitor shows it's a GN850. Why didn't LG update the firmware to reflect new model number?”

• Sounds like LG being lazy. This has the nano display compared to the GL model..... it would be nice for LG to provide specific firmware for the GN850 over the GL.

• Because it’s the same exact hardware and screen as the GL850. Only different is it doesn’t have USB ports on back.

• The firmware of the two monitors are the same. The difference is in the hardware. the GN850 has USB ports as the GL850 does not. ^ Jamal
