Customers are saying

Customers recognize the UltraGear 27" IPS LED QHD monitor's exceptional picture quality, high refresh rate, and vibrant colors as significant strengths. Many appreciate its value for the price and the effective performance of its G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility. However, some users point to the HDR's dimness and the monitor stand's design as potential drawbacks. A few also mentioned issues with IPS glow, though this is often considered inherent to IPS panel technology.

    27GL850 but $50 cheaper!

Uses the exact same panel as the legendary LG 27GL850 but without the USB hub making it $50 cheaper! The 27GL850 is easily one of the best, if not the best, 27" 1440p gaming panel. It matches or exceeds other monitors in clarity of motion (grey to grey response times) and color accuracy at a sub $500 price level (the Viewsonic Elite XG270QG, ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ, and Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q-P are all $600 or more at the time of this review - and shamefully that Gigabyte model is the third of a product line that didn't actually add DisplayPort 1.4 until that Q-P model). Anyone looking for a premium gaming monitor should look no further as not only is it the best panel, it's at the best price by far. Still can't believe I got this at $449 when the actual 27GL850 (last year's model) is extremely hard to find and going for upward of $600 as well. If I had the extra money, I would buy two more of these.

I bought two of these 27-GN850’s and got them installed about a week ago. These replace 2 22” Dell monitors, so the larger size is definitely a change - and a welcome one at that. The screens are sharp and bright. There’s a very small amount of back-light bleed when blacks are present in the corner, but not anywhere near enough to bother me at all. I like that the monitors support Display Port and 2 HDMI’s. I use my Surface Laptop 3 for both work and pleasure, through a Surface Dock 2 and to each monitor via USB-C to Display Port cables. I also run my Xbox Series S through a sound bar, then to the left monitor via HDMI - all is mostly good. I couldn’t get my Xbox to force 1440p at all (regardless of refresh rate), even though the monitor supports 1440p. The monitor does accept 4K signal, though, so I have my Xbox running at 4K-60hz in the settings. I would chalk this up as an Xbox issue, not a monitor issue. My biggest issue is that the included monitor stands are so ridiculously huge and awkward that they really don’t work well for a standard PC desk. You can see in the second picture that the majority of the back of the stand is actually hanging off my desk. Good thing there’s a wall there to keep it from falling. It was either that or have the monitors leaning off the front of the the desk and risk them tipping over off the front. Again, HUGE stands. I highly recommend either having a large desk with a good surface area or figure out another way to mount the monitors on maybe a VESA stand or some other solution. I may look into doing this myself in the near future. The stands aren’t wobbly, they’re heavy and sturdy, so I don’t worry about stability, they just take up A LOT more room than you’d expect. Oh, and don’t be fooled by the “adjustable height”, these stands don’t go down near as far as you’d hope - my Dell monitor stands put these stands to shame in that regard. Anyway, good monitors, crisp, clear, bright, great quality, heavy duty but awkward stands and good selection of inputs. Very satisfied. I recommend the monitors for the monitor aspect if you can deal with the stands being what they are or find a different mounting solution!

First IPS panel I have ever had and wow is it a great difference in colors compared to TN panels. I also have a Dell S2719DGF and out of the box without changing anything it beats the configured Dell in looks and viewing angles don’t change how great it looks. Also it works out of the box with the PS5 at 4K @ 60Hz even thought it’s a 1440p. Also after placing it on performance mode does 1080p @ 120Hz without messing with the monitor or even turning off free sync. The LG is on the left of the picture.

Amazing picture quality, great price and a wonderful upgrade if you are coming from a 1080p monitor. My RTX 2080 pushes it flawlessly on Ultra-High 60-100fps on Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Rust, etc. Streaming video quality is VERY noticeable improvement over Dell Ultra 1080 and screen size is great! I have a triple monitor set up, with this 27" LG in the middle of two 1080P Dell Ultra's. See Pic in review.

This works on Series X and I am able to get 1440p at 120hz. What I had to do was a little tedious. I had to turn off auto-hdr, but it was grayed out for me. I had to reset the Xbox display settings. You can do that by holding the power button till the xbox shuts off. After that hold the power button again while holding the disc eject and I was able to mess with my display settings from scratch. It works great now and I love the colors of the monitor!

Love this monitor so much. I use to use 1080p 60hrz & now i cant ever go back to gaming on that. My only issue is it came with a dead pixel on the left side of the screen. Didnt feel like going through the trouble to get a replacement for something i never notice unless im looking for it.

    Pretty good monitor

It's a pretty good monitor but i was expecting a little better. Super easy to set up. Mine can with two display ports and no hdmi cable. I am happy for that. I was using a 24 inch 165hz 1ms TN g sync monitor. Fantastic for competitive gaming that i mostly play. Battlefield, overwatch, paladins and cod warzone. i have a few story base games (offline) and playing them on a TN monitor was pretty bad. Colors washed out so i decided to buy a IPS nano. It came down to this LG ultragear 27 IPS nano monitor or the new alienware 34 ultrawide IPS nano. I finally pulled the trigger on this monitor. I honestly wish the colors poped more. I was using a 19 inch IPS samsung tv for $175 as a starter before i got a gaming monitor and wow did the colors pop. I was expecting somewhat the same experience with this monitor. It's not a bad screen and everything is super crisp. I tested out rise of the tomb raider, GTAV and borderlands 3. They all look great but had an issue with GTAV. I tried out the HDR but it was not really worth it in gaming. My monitor came with no dead pixels and light bleeding. I don't use the 1ms super feature because i have no interest on playing competitive on this monitor. So i am 5ms and no ghosting. Even thought the stand base is made out of plastic it's honestly pretty good. I have my ps4 pro on my desk so i will try god of war and dawn horizon. I bought patapon 1 and 2 remastered once i got this monitor. I am planning on building a rtx 3080 super pc and getting a ps5. So with a native freesync and a pretty good g sync feature this is good for pc and consoles. After 5 hours i yet to see a single screen tear. The control button is one small button on the middle bottom of the monitor. Its a toggle button so i am afraid it's going to give me problems in the future. So i will rarely use it. Overall for the price and the features are well worth it. The new IPS nano is a gimmick but i am happy i bought this monitor. LG is a brand you can trust.

This is excellent for the price to performance ratio. The colors are amazing with the wide cover gamut and the panel even supports 12BIT COLOR! I just got a gaming pc for the time being I'll use the 1660 to that came with it. It's great for over 100hz gaming on C.O.D warzone on 1080 mixed settings but expect good results with of rx 5700xt or rtx 2070-super for full 2k high settings 144hz or close to it frame rates. I got a dell 4k monitor which saddened me when I saw a little bit of the pixels on the lg but it doesnt bother me at all My set up is 16gb 2666mhz ram, i7 9700f 650 watt 80 gold plus power supply, And I bought a levono prebuilt that came with 1660ti ok for 1440p but not 144hz I'll wait for the rtx 3070 if it doesn't bottle neck with the i7 I have a pic of below of what I use and the lg panel it self 12bit is supported in hdmi and the gsync is amazing on dp Also H.D.R needs to be calibrated to look somewhat manageable

Great monitor great picture quality and coloring currently have just over 8000 hours on screen, has held up incredibly can’t complain or gripe on anything. Have used for multiple different games and used the built in on screen reticle which is great for a lot of the games I play such as Tarkov, Day Z, etc. would recommend if you are looking for a 1440p monitor for console or even some pc use.

Bought this monitor to replace the BenQ EX2780Q which is nearly identical on specs and price. My issue with the BenQ was the non adjustable stand and overall image quality. I don't like to tinker with settings too much but I could only find one usable color setting with it. This LG has 5 that I like and could use without issue. The stand is fully adjustable and well built. The whole monitor just looks great. I'm able to use 1440p at 120hz on the Xbox One X and everything is crisp and runs buttery smooth. I cannot recommend this monitor enough

One of the best monitors I ever used. Going from 1080p to 1440p makes a world of difference. From 70hz to 144hz is like night and day too. With gsync I get no screen tearing. Works wonders with rtx3070 graphics card.

I purchased this monitor on an impulse buy, actually just wanting at the time to spend some money, well I have purchased several monitors from Winston Best Buy and I have returned some but I have kept the best ones that are the best in my opinion. I have two HP OMEN 27i Gaming Monitors and they are fantastic, and though I purchased this LG MONITOR at the time u didn't expect it to be and turn out to become my favorite all around monitor, its great, and now I am considering returning the two omens and purchase the same LG as this one and then purchase another LG except the other one I want is more expensive, bigger, wider, alot better, and it will be my main monitor!

This monitor is AMAZING!!!!! Works great with my gaming laptop and now that I’ve built my gaming desktop it’s just as impressive if not more. I got this one on sale at 360. I also got the dead pixel geek squad plan just in case. I’m going to be getting another to match my other one. Hopefully it will go on sale again!

This is my first monitor in over 15 years. I just built my first gaming P.C and combined with this monitor I am blown away at what I have been missing. The picture quality is amazing. I am comfortable that anyone who buys this will be satisfied. My only gripe is I wish this monitor had usb support like the other variant. But not a deal breaker.

I like everything about this monitor, picture quality, all the specs, etc, EXCEPT its stand is really bulky and long in the back. If you have a big single level desk then no worries, but I have a second shelf level on my desk and, since the stand is so bulky and long, I couldn't fit it on the main level. Way too close to my face and was pushing into my keyboard and mouse area. I had to put it on the shelf level and put the monitor down as low as it will go, which is still a little high and I have to look up a bit for. Might have to cut my shelf in half, still figuring out what I want to do. It feels unnecessary too, like there's just empty space in the stand so it's excess length and bulk is purely cosmetic and not functional. Other than that, performance wise it's great.
