Yes, you can use this monitor at lower resolutions. 3440x1440, 2560x1080, and you can also use with 16:9 aspect ratio (not recommended because of wasted screen space)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can't full screen a game at a lower resolution if that's what you mean. Resolution is the number of pixels being used 3840x1600. You can play games at lower quality setting but all pixels will be used, other wise you have black bars. If you don't have a 2080ti or higher, don't buy this monitor. If you change the Resolution to 2160x1400, the remaining pixels will be black, (hence the black bars). You can play games windowed at any resolution you want, but it can only be full screen with full 3840x1600 resolution. I don't think you're asking the right question.
