I have dropped my iphone multiple times from 3-5 ft high without issue. The case does get damaged eventually, normally the rubber outside guard will scuff.

My experience with otter case is one for the books. I was loading up my children to return some book to my public library and set my phone on my car roof. Forgetting about it I drove off. When I got to the library I rushed home and seen what looked like my phone in the middle of the street. I was thanking God none had ran it over.... yeah right as I got out of my car and walked over to my cell phone. The screen was cracked and I started to cry because there's no way I could buy another $700 dollar phone. Upon taking it home and inspecting it a little closer I started to laugh because my screen wasn't cracked it was the prvetcie screen I had put on that was. It's been about a year now and my phone is still running as good as new.
