yes it does come with a installation disc which is for the drivers and yes its range is about 30 ft and i use mine connected to my laptop and the wifi signal is very good from my router which is about 30 ft also, this is my second one in about 3 years the other failed after warranty had finished ive tried others and this one seems to be the best and is very small not bulky and works good.
