No. The performance of the repeater is based off the strength of the WiFi. If the originator WiFi signal is weak the extender work function. With any extender there is some performance loss in the devices this also depends on the originator signal strength as well. If you have a cell phone with good LTE and can hotspot that would be the better option and you could use the extender with your hotspot if needed

It will not increase the speed of your WiFi or the strength of the WiFi. That comes from your internet provider. You could always subscribe to your own WiFi service for a stronger signal and greater speeds.
