“I know this works with Windows 7 but do I need a CD to install the software because I don't have a drive on my computer”

• You can download it from the Linksys website under the Support section and install it from a USB flash drive, but you would have to do it either hardwired to the internet or from another computer.

• I have Windows 10 and didn't need to use the cd. Windows automatically detected the adapter and found the driver for it.

• I tried to plug in without the CD but it would not work. I suggest you use a external CD/DVD drive that plugs into a USB port.
