If you're trying to connect to the 5ghz wifi network, you need to be fairly close to your router. But, after reading your question, I am on my second AC1200 adapter and mine constantly drops the connection too. Linksys support updated my driver for Windows 10 and it didn't help. They sent me a new adapter and that one does the same thing. Next time buy a different brand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We bought 2 of these. We noticed that this adapter constantly has to reload our Time Warner Cable / Spectrum High Speed Internet 5.0 Ghz network. We specifically purchased 5.0Ghz because the entire family uses their laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, and game consoles consistently. However, we do have and maintain the Home Wifi Network too, which is 2.4Ghz. This adapter works with the 2.4Ghz network. I believe it can't handle networks that are higher than 2.4Ghz. We are using the adapters on 2 MSI Gaming Desktops. We hope this helps answer your question. Please take care. -Michael
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is doing the same thing. It will work fine for awhile and then stops working and can't find my router. Then it will start working again. I'm in the process of talking to Linksys to find out why it's doing this. I know it's not my wifi because I can connect my phone to it when the linksys stops working. If you are connecting to 5ghz on your router you have to be pretty close to the router to get a good solid connection. Connecting to 2.4 you can be further away. The first time I called Linksys they told me what channels my router should be set at for the adapter to work properly. I can't find where I wrote it down but if you call them they can tell you. Usually if I unplug the adapter and plug it back in it will start working again.
