The Linksys RE6500 allows you to repeat the wireless signal of any access point or router to provide Internet connectivity in hard to reach areas through a wireless connection on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency band. It supports wireless coverage area of up to 10,000 square feet. However, we may need to consider your network environment.

Think of this as putting out a circle of Wi-Fi signal and your Wi-Fi Router putting out a circle of signal. Have your router towards one end of your home and the extender toward the other end. The extender will push a new signal in the end of the house away from the Router with a new circle of Wi-Fi signal. The extender must actually be in the routers signal area, but it will tell you if you are too close or too far away in the setup so you can get it just right for more signal to that end of your house farther away from the router. You can also use this analogy for each floor if you are having trouble reaching upstairs or downstairs areas. Good Luck
