Yes. My original router was from Optimum. Consult the Best Buy salesperson to make sure it is compatible with your cable provider.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two parts to an internet connection. A router and a modem. The modem takes the signal from your internet service provider (phone company, cable company, etc) and transformed it into something your home computer can use. The router takes the that signal your computer can use (the one created by the modem) and allows more than one computer to use the signal (either through wires or wirelessly). Often, today's internet service providers will give you both devices housed in the same plastic box. Instead of each device being housed in its own box. This is the router. You will need to plug it in to a modem to get internet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No this device is simply an add on. You need a cable modem or a device that will bring the internet into your home. The linksys router allows you to broadcast the internet signal throughout your home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not see any port for the cable. I have mine connected via ethernet cable to my cable modem. In fact, the word INTERNET is on a yellow sticker right under an ethernet port, so I'm thinking that's the way they expect the signal to come in. It has a USB port, and 3 LAN ports, but no cable input.
