It uses your 2.4 and 5g combined to determine what device needs what signal. It checks each device every minute and determines how much speed they need. Unlike most routers which split your signal evenly to every device which slows down speeds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From what I understood is the router extends the range of your WiFi. Prior to this router, I was using a 2-in-1 modem/router and a Netgear range extender to reach my backyard. Now, the extender is useless as the new router exceeds even the rang of the extender. The router is installed exactly where the old one was, and reaches across the street.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The extender adds range to the router by Plugging it in away from the router, but still in good wifi range. it boost the wifi signal and sends it Further through the house or to the yard.

In order to get a signal beyond a certain area of our home, I purchased an "extender" - a device which redirected the signal a little further beyond its normal range. The newer router I have, has a range beyond the older one - much further - and so I think it simply means the Range in which you can pick up the signal is greater because the "extender" is included in the router.
