Not necessarily. Some older wireless devices only connect to a 2.4 Ghz wireless signal. Had a similar issue with a Samsung Blu Ray player (4 or 5 years old). It won't see my 5 Ghz network, even if I try to give it the settings manually. Make sure your 5 Ghz is setup and enabled, but it may be the device itself that is limited.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same question because I had my settings for both 2.4 and 5 GHz to be broadcasting SSID. I couldn't figure out why my Mom's devices could see the 5 GHz but my devices (which were newer) could only see the 2.4 GHz. I even tried to WPS and manually add the 2.4 GHz but couldn't get my devices to see or connect. According to the Cox person I talked to today that is because the devices that aren't seeing the 5 GHz are not compatible and can't connect. She said we should use the 2.4 GHz for the devices that are able to connect to it so I have my Mom's older devices on that bandwith and mine on the other. This does seem strange though because I did speed tests on both and her connection with her older I-pad was way faster on the 2.4 GHz than mine was on the 5 GHz... I haven't speed tested my new PC yet though but it is brand new HP PC and only sees and can connect to the 2.4GHz. Hope this helps...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some devices will only work with 2.4GHz frequency network, Ed; we suggest that you contact your La Cross manufacturer regarding this matter for further assistance.
