AT&T says a different router should not help??? Call AT&T for answers... I wonder if you get 1gb plugging in directly to the AT&T device? Here is an AT&T forum with similar questions --- https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Fiber-Installation/ATT-Fiber-Internet-Speed/td-p/5271101
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to the specifications listed by Linksys, the EA7500 can achieve speeds up to 1300 Mbps using the 5Ghz band. There are things you can do to increase your wifi speed. First step is to verify what speed you are receiving directly connected to your router using a CAT5 cable to the ethernet port. Next step is to test your speed using the wifi signal on the 5Ghz band. In my experience, the 2.4Ghz band can be slower due to other devices that use similar frequencies. Once you check your speed, you can use the built in Linksys utility for changing the channels to see which one achieves the highest speed. Mine dropped to only 1.5Mbps out of a maximum of 214Mbps, but I was able to achieve 214Mbos once I tuned it to a different frequency. Things that cause issues are a neighbor using similar frequencies, thick concrete walls, etc.
