• Yes, Mebon, as long as you have a modem that the router can connect to.

• You should be able to use it as long as you have a cable modem. Some cable companies combine the modem and router into one unit. I quit renting mine all in one box and purchased a modem and this router to replace it and it works great and a lot better than there all in one box.
