“I have all rooms in my house hardwired thru an ethernet 8 port switching box next to my modem. Can I hook a linksys ac1900 wireless router in any location or does it have to be near the modem?”

• Hi, jaybird1900. Yes, you can. We recommend setting up the router in a room where you can use it optimally. Also, make sure that the Ethernet cable connecting the Linksys EA7500 to the modem is not too long to avoid network latency.

• My thought would be: Modem to router, then plug switch into an available router port? See if it works? Otherwise, maybe the instructions that came with the switch?
