Will this work with free and public Optimum Wifi? There is a building outside of my apartment and I can connect to it now, but it is weak. I can't find information on extending the Optimum Wifi so I am wondering if this will work.

It should work as long as you can connect to the original wifi. It also has a feature that will show you optimum placement for optimum coverage with maximum bandwidth.

It'll work, John. Just make sure that you have all the wireless settings of the main WiFi router, to sync with this unit.
