• No, it's won't likely help with that unless your wifi signal is so degraded due to range that you need a boost.

• This extends the range - if you are needing faster, that's a different issue. This helped me because my second level of my home had a lot of buffering as it was far from the router. The range extender did the trick. Ultimately, it depends on where you want to use this for you to determine the answer.
