Theoretically you can have 255 devices connected to any given router. I keep mine set for 140 just to have some spare room in case of new devices. If you have more devices that takes bandwidth and that is your enemy. Most places have high speed internet but there are also many places that don't offer that option. If you only have 10Mbps to share then you are limited more by that than by the router. There are also many other variables for speed and connectivity. The router will always be limited to 255 IP address.
