You cannot do either because the linksys router wifi performance is so bad as to render the wifi useless. Wifi is down most of the time and resetting rarely helps. Tech support is hard to reach, overseas, and they just go through a script designed to blame other components of your system such as the internet provider, pc, etc. instead of their linksys router. Oddly, the linksys velop units work well with an amped router. I recommend getting an amped router and the older, smaller velop units.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have had consistent bad luck with linksys routers, their wifi is completely undependable. Down more often than up. Even when up, delivers less than 1/5th of the promised speed. Our network is verified 1 gig and every other part of the network is at full speed except the linksys wifi. We have had better performance with amped routers. Oddly, the old velop linksys booster/repeaters work well with the amped router.
