Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.IMO, yes, this will work. This is designed for either/or/and. The first box should be wired into your router (or switch to router). You'll then configure your new wireless network. The remaining two can either be wired or wireless. It's meshed, so you won't (necessarily) see the switching to stronger signals. You'll have to be strategic in placement for best signals and no dead spots.

You can make use of the wired backhaul instead of wireless as wiring nodes together can increase the range and speed of your Velop system and reduce the risk of wireless interference. While Ethernet backhaul is supported, please know that the Linksys app does NOT support setting up over this medium yet. However, you can first set up all your nodes using the standard setup, and once done, you can simply hardwire your nodes to your network using an Ethernet cable.
