Hi. You can do either of those configuration, it is up to you. You can add the Velop system to your existing network to extend the Wi-Fi range.Or you can completely remove your old router and replace it with the Velop system.

One of the units will go next to the modem like your current router and the others can be spaced out thru your house to get the best coverage. The setup is easy as can be. It will tell you if the nodes are too far apart or too close. Too close isn’t an issue, but too far apart can be a problem.

I had a linksys router and I disconnected it and installed the 3 nodes around the house and it more than doubled my WiFi speeds. You need the linksys app on your phone to install, it’ll show you everything you need to do step by step.
