“Need my Velop+hardwired internet connections w/the WIFI system off. Charter-provided modem only has 1 ethernet port. Have an ethernet switch, but it seems that the Velop base station needs to be 1st inline. do I need a new modem w/mutiple ethernet ports?”

The Velop mesh system does require that the Node nearest the modem be considered Node 1, this node will connect to the modem via the ethernet port. I chose a rather inexpensive modem from BestBuy with dual ethernet ports to connect to Node 1. Have not had any issues since connecting everything.
