• I assume you mean the Ethernet port. But it will work. It’s just not honestly going to be a big improvement. If you can’t find another airport to add to the network to extend the network then sure add these. But the technology is close enough that you won’t really notice an advantage with “mesh”.

• Using the USB connector YES. I'm not aware of an HDMI port on the Extreme.

• The Velop does not have an HDMI port, Bikeman. It also does not support the Apple Airport's backup feature.
