Yes. I do that with a 5 port switch. One Ethernet to your internet connection and one Ethernet cable to your switch.

I have 4 x 4 port and 2 x 8 port switches all over my home to get me wired access to where I have multiple devices. To pain the picture, I have Modem/Router -> Velop LAN -> unmanaged switch -> unmanaged switch, to Velop LAN -> Unmanaged switch -> Velop LAN... And it all works really well. So as long as your switch is Unmanaged, you should not have any issues.
