“Are the Velop and Arlo(Netgear) security system compatible? I can't get the arlo to connect to the internet.”

Any error message during the setup? My setup went smooth as silk. It took a couple of minutes for the base to reconcile with the module. Make sure the arlo base can reach all cameras.

Just stick to the Velop system and trash the others

Yes, the Arlo cameras via Wi-Fi, any device that projects Wi-Fi it will connect too. Try placing a node closer if you are still having issues.
