Short answer: no. This is a really good product and has greatly improved the reliability of my wifi at home. It would potentially help with your wifi connection in your basement if you were to put one of the satellite nodes down there, but it won't impact your actual cellular reception (like for your phone calls). If you're looking to improve your cellular coverage in a deadzone, I recommend that you look into something called a cellular repeater (or 'cellular signal booster').

For a point of reference, Verizon’s wifi calling sucks for me. Doesn’t matter the router or anything else. But may be specific to me. Good luck

The child nodes will definitely help to boost your wireless network as it’s designed to fit in any network environment. If you’re asking if the Velop will extend your mobile data, then it will not, as it should only be connected to a modem or another router.
