If your abode is set alight, and firefighters happen to make it in time to preserve the room in which this box is kept, you might possibly protect your valuable and cash money from loss, but it is not a given. Regarding "fireproof," apparently that applies only to the "extra money bag," Paper may combust around 424°F(204°C), and since the details and specifications make no mention to the temperatures from which your valuables may be protected, it is entirely possible the box may survive, and when you open it, you will find the "fireproof bag" intact, and filled with ashes of any paper it previously held. I deem this may be effective protection against investigatory sticky-fingers, but considering its small size and high portability, attaching it to drywall via the provided bolts may be necessary. It will likely protect only from the most casual and amateur of sticky fingers. It would be vulnerable to any highly motivated thief with moderate experience. Possibly even lower, as standard batteries, of the best quality, poorly handled and/or poorly maintained are subject to explosion. The description does not reveal the composition of materials used to make the safe, nor those used to make the "fireproof" money bag. The description contains no reference to temperatures from which the contents will be protected. Since paper will combust at temperatures above approx. 400°F/204.4°C (400 is the figure I keep in my head for safety, regarding paper used in baking; generally, paper combustion is reported as approximately 424°F, so it's actually lower than the famous film/book, 451° Fahrenheit), if the metal can withstand such a temperature, it is entirely possible the paper may be completely incinerated within, whilst the box itself is more-or-less undamaged/intact (assuming the batteries do not explode). Again, mind paper used in baking may be fully incinerated whilst doing no damage to the oven, itself, however, do NOT test this, flames within an oven MUST be extinguished as soon as possible, as there may be other things in the oven capable of combustion from the paper fire and then there's your abode, lost. The primary purpose for this "safe box," as I evaluate the specifications, is to thwart exploratory, sticky fingers; however, it is quite small, easily transportable, hence the inclusion of bolts for attaching it to dry wall. Again, this will thwart the most casual and amateur thief, but not much beyond that. All that said, I'm considering getting this BB Deal of the day. Dropping a Jackson to preserve a Benjamin and a Jackson from casual theft may well be worth it, but I will not be expecting protection from any real fire, nor any experienced thief.
