“Can I use an external (my own) microphone with this webcam?”

• The camera itself has a built-in mic but does not have a microphone port or jack for an external mic. However, I use my external mic by connecting my mic into my computer thru USB and then connecting my webcam into the computer via its USB. I then make sure my external mic is set to record into Audacity audio recording software (which is free) and I also disable the camera's built-in mic in the video recording software when I select the camera input.

• Yes, the camera has a built in mic but if you have an external you may use it as long as you are able to connect it directly to your computer. There are no ports on the webcam itself.
