• This camera is wireless for WiFi access. It plugs in a wall outlet for power. There are no batteries. There is a circle 2 camera that operates on batteries but it is a different model.

• I can’t say that it used batteries; I always had it plugged in. The quality is amazing and it works with “Home” if you’re an Apple user.
