• you cant use a mouse on a monitor has to be in the computer

• You do not plug it into the monitor. There is usually a dedicated plug in for a mouse on the actual PC itself.

• Your monitor may not have a built in USB hub like some do. You have to directly plug into the computer, not the monitor.
