The headset actually does a great job even in other rooms. I've tested it 2 rooms away and I didn't notice any breaks in the sound!

As long as there are not too many walls between you and the USB Transmitter / Receiver then they work great. I have be 50 ft away and still talking to folks and hearing the game noises. Music quality is excellent as well even at a distance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and the sound quality remains the same as long as you are not too far from the receiver. The moment that you are getting too far you can tell because the quality becomes a bit more distorted as far as hearing and being able to speak.

There were some issues if I put a wall with plumbing between me and the usb dongle, but there was no noticeable drop in sound quality--I've even been able to use voice communication (Mumble, Ventrilo, Skype, Steam Voice, Battle.net Voice, etc.) while walking around my home with little negative effect.
