Now do you charge the battery? null

The base plugs into an ac outlet. The remote has a button battery that is user replaceable. Not rechargeable.

It doesn't use a rechargable battery. It uses one, three volt coin cell lithium battery, type CR2032. Under normal remote usage, the battery is expected to last one year. It takes a CR2032 lithium battery- non-rechargeable. It is supposed to last about a year.

Haven't needed to but you just change the the battery on the remote and the hub is just plugged in to the wall or a USB
