“I cannot get this keyboard to work on either of the 2 macs we have. When I press the "q", hq pops up. When I press "m", m=8 pops up. When I press "r", trz pops up. Strange "shortcuts" or something. Anyone have advice. We are going crazy.”

Check your device keyboard settings. You can use "Logitech Setpoint" software, for keyboard customization. There are a wide variety of Logitech keyboards which are designed specifically for Mac, with the proper key commands, which you may prefer.
