Make sure the positive (+) end of the battery is orientated towards the rear of the mouse. It should pop right down after inserting the battery's negative (-) end into its slot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.On mine the battery lifts up very easily with a fingernail. Don't push in, just lift up on the top of the battery (closest to the back end of the mouse) with a small pointy object if your fingertip doesn't do it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I remove the bottom access panel and my battery is easily removed as the spring does not seem to have the tension your are noting. If anything else you should be able to just pull up the battery from the positive end without having to push battery against the spring.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.After you open the case, it is just a matter of gently pushing back and lifting the battery out. IF BY CHANCE you left the battery in until it corroded, you may not be able to save the mouse.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The battery cover is located on the bottom of the mouse. You simply slide the cover off the end of the mouse. You do not need to lift any thing, it will slide backwards and come completely off the mouse to expose the battery.
