• Yes, they are compatible. They work very together and there are two ports to use.

• It works with any computer including Chromebook as long as you have a USB input.

• they are compatible as long as the chromebook has a usb type-a port. no software is needed. just plug in the wireless module stored inside the mouse. I personally have an acer c720 chromebook and it has two usb type-a ports, one 2.0 and the other 3.0. since chromebook as very limited storage, extendibility is essential and I couldn't image one with only one usb.
