“Is it possible to use this mouse with a different USB dongle from previous Logitech product(s)? I have the Logitech Wave keyboard/mouse combo, but the buttons are starting to go on the mouse. Either click too hard or too light and either way it'll over or under respond. Any who, I was wondering if this mouse would work through the Logitech USB dongle I currently have now that came with that keyboard/mouse combo, instead of having to use the one that comes with the mouse. The M510 uses the Logitech Unifying receiver as does the keyboard (and mouse) in the Wave Combo MK550 set. So, yes, you can get the M510 to talk to the same receiver as the MK550 keyboard by using the Logitech Unifying Software utility. If your old dongle does, then this mouse would work with it. If it doesn't, Windows can handle two dongles at once, so you could still have your keyboard on the old dongle.

I was able to set up both the mouse and the keyboard on my old USB dongle with no problem. As long as your USB dongle is by Logitech then you should have no problem at all. You can also go to the Logitech website for an app that you can download which makes things 10x easier and faster to setup and delete old items on any USB dongle that you are using. Hope this helps!

I don't know if the keyboard is one of those though. One of my kids broke a dongle and I called Logitech support about it. They were good to deal with and sent me a replacement for free. The new dongle had to be paired with the mouse using a utility you download from Logitech. Instructions are on their support site. You should be able to pair your mouse with the keyboard dongle using the same utility as long as it is a unifying receiver.

Basically just un-packaged the mouse, turned it on and the computer recognized it. Both mice are working at the same time now. You can also search for the Logitech software for tutorials. The dongle can handle up to 6 items i believe. Bottom line is that it does work.
