• no need to safely eject, that is only for usb drives. You can just pull out the receiver or leave it plugged in.

• The USB receiver is just like any other USB receiver. Simply pull the USB out, and your done!

• You should be able to just unplug it with no problems, I do when I go between my laptop and home computer

• Move the USB to the trash or there should be an eject. FYI it won't hurt anything if you just pull it out. My office has all macs we do it all the time. Good luck!
